Harriet is a filmmaker and photographer committed to authentic storytelling
Harriet is a producer who specialises in creating natural history, science, and factual broadcast programs and has worked on blue-chip productions for companies such as National Geographic and Disney+.
Harriet is experienced in executing complicated international shoots in hostile environments and specialises in underwater productions. With over a decade of experience as a professional diver, she is familiar with open-circuit (scuba) and closed-circuit (CCR) dive equipment, has dived in temperate and tropical environments worldwide and has worked with speciality equipment like dry suits. Harriet has practical knowledge and experience in producing efficiently and safely in the field. She has led multiple international shoots, ensuring all footage is captured in a safe and enjoyable working environment. Harriet started her career as a dive instructor on the Great Barrier Reef and has learned to read a room and build rapport quickly with crew and talent. She is always ready to get her hands dirty, whether it's diving, helping solve inevitable problems that can arise on location, interviewing talent, or shooting footage.
Harriet gained recognition in 2016 when she created several viral social videos for 1 Million Women, which helped her realise the power of impactful storytelling. She enrolled in the Australian Film, Television, and Radio School to enhance her technical skills in filmmaking. Since then, Harriet has worked on long and short-form productions for world-renowned organisations such as National Geographic, Disney+, ABC and leading environmental and social justice groups. With a background in journalism and communications, Harriet enjoys conducting research, interviewing talent, and developing storyboards that lead to thought-provoking films.
Harriet is an Emerging League Member of the International League of Conservation Photographers (iLCP), a global organisation of media professionals dedicated to ethical storytelling. Harriet has experience shooting on various cameras, including Canon, Sony and RED systems. She has worked on exciting projects with science and advocacy organisations, including WWF, The Australian Conservation Foundation, and The Nature Conservancy.
